This is the second year I will have one of my photographic prints in the North Carolina Museum of Art’s “Art of the Auction”. I’m thrilled and grateful to be included again this year with my solar pinhole photographic print “Terra Incognita (2011.053)”. The event this year was juried by Elysia Borowy-Feeder, Director of the Contemporary Art Museum in Raleigh, Trevor Schoonmaker, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Nasher Museum of Art in Durham and Mark Hewitt of Hewitt Pottery. For me, this is a great opportunity to have my work seen by gallery and museum curators as well as collectors and others who enjoy viewing art.
There will be an auction preview at the NC Museum of Art on Friday, March 30th at 5:30 pm, a free event.
The Art of the Auction will be held Saturday, April 14th at 7:00 pm. This evening includes cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and silent and live auctions with all proceeds benefiting Museum exhibitions and education programs. Tickets go on sale March 1. You can Sign up here to receive an e-mail invitation.
For more information, visit the Art of the Auction website.
Congratulations. This solargraph work deserves recognition!
